Alan Pugmire Obituary

Alan Lou Pugmire, 73, of St. Charles, Idaho, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on April 4, 2024, following a brief struggle with stomach cancer, surrounded by his loving family at home.

Born on December 3, 1950, in Montpelier, Idaho, Alan was the third of four children to Louis and Josephine Pugmire.  He was raised in St. Charles and moved to Soda Springs as a freshman.  Alan was very active in sports, including basketball, football, and track.

On August 3, 1973, he married his sweetheart, Peggy Hopkins, in the Ogden, Utah Temple, and together they raised their five children in St. Charles.  As a devoted father, he instilled values of integrity and hard work in his children, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

For nearly 50 years, Alan worked at the mines in Soda Springs forging lifelong friendships.  He loved to hunt, fish, be outdoors, work on the farm, and cherished time with his family.  A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Alan faithfully served in various callings, the latest being a temple worker with his Peggy Sue.  He possessed a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and left a profound impact despite his quiet demeanor.

Alan is survived by his wife, Peggy Pugmire of St. Charles ID;  children, Justin (Marisa) Pugmire of Ucon, ID; Amber (Brad) Henderson of Pendleton, OR; Travis (Kristen) Pugmire of Carlsbad, CA; Wendy (available) Pugmire  of Costa Mesa, CA; Tyler (Bridget) Pugmire of Randolph, UT; 19 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; siblings, Rexine (Jim) Mattson; RaeLynne Taylor; Kim (JaLayne) Pugmire; and father-in-law, Loyal Hopkins.
